A review!!!

I've always loved your stuff. The drawings are crude but its still much more funny and endearing than a lot of cartoons here.

Very good as usual. Keep it up Eddsworth!!!!

eddsworld responds:

What a surprise! Thanks for the review, Ryarn! Means a lot!

Lmao

I know so many people who are actually like this. Thanks for the laugh.

Meebs responds:

No problem ;)

You make the weirdest crap ever.

But I love it. :D You have one of the most original styles I've seen and your drawings, while a bit on the twisted side, are so insanely creative. I mean you were able to make a bunch of anuses look like a legitimate face so there's an accomplishment right there.

May I also say that Waldemar Schurr is one of the best names I've ever heard?

W-P-S responds:

It's Schuur not Schurr ):

Okay

Well I can't say I enjoyed this as much as some of your other stuff. I can't really figure out what you were trying do to be honest I was just left kind of confused at the end, heh. But party on anyway.

Wow

It's really amazing how much you've improved since you started. The animation is really solid and some of the backgrounds are AMAZING. I wish I could draw backgrounds like that. :( To think about a year ago people were criticizing you for using filtered jpgs... heh.

My only criticism would be that you sometimes seem to use non-sequitors too much, as if any "lol random" thing Blockhead does should be funny. Personally I still think Episode 7 was your strongest, the humor seemed most inspired in that episode to me. It just gets kind of tiring and repetitive seeing Blockhead being random and the conscience always yelling at him in the EXACT SAME WAY.

You just gotta be a little more UNEXPECTED. ;)

The-Swain responds:

Haha, quoth Stamper at Comic Con while playing an episode of Blockhead from the NG Booth, "Hey, nice traced bitmaps!"

Of course that was Episode 9, which featured some of my most hardcore animation from that time. I keep the filtered jpgs because of how childish they are. That's why I used them to begin with (or else I would not have drawn a background for Blockhead's living room).

I don't try to use non sequitors, I think people sometimes don't understand why Blockhead does something and then they assume I meant it that way. There's a method to the madness, to be sure. And don't forget, the Conscience doesn't get angry at all this episode. Not even a little.

SKELETONS.

I dunno man this cartoon was a little too spookeh and scareh for me.

I saw those spinning skullhead things from Witch Doctor. This video actually reminded me of Witch Doctor in a lot of ways... bright n' colorful fast paced wackiness with catchy music... which is always a good combination, haha.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

I was wondering if anyone noticed I had ganked the little spinning skulls. You did the same thing in EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG. :)

Didn't like.

So I click "watch this movie" and the first thing I see is Sonic in a ridiculously awkward pose poking his own nose... or something. WTF? Why the HELL would anyone draw a character like that?

I suppose this brings me to the main thing that bugged the crap out of me about this movie. The generic anime poses and expressions that have been used 50 trillion times made me want to tear out my eyes. x_x Not only is every drawing in this movie quite blatantly copied, but the drawings themselves look quite awkward and unnatural sometimes. The kind of fakeness that comes from trying to imitate something else is somehow even worse to look at than a drawing made from scratch even by someone with novice drawing skills. I'm also quite sick of Sonic and DBZ stuff by now. Please make something that hasn't already been done a million times already next time.

Didn't like at all.

V Oh yeah, feel free to mark my review as unhelpful, folks! :D V

Chakra-X responds:

Heh heh, well, the nose poke is an anime thing that Sonic does.

He's a hedgehog O_o, I'm not trying to do any groundbreaking poses/expressions.

I also find it hard to believe that I would copy hundreds of images, for 24000 frames =/

But, can't please everyone. The point of this movie wasn't originality, it was what I always wanted Sonic to do.

FAAHHTS!

Sure this may not exactly be "highbrow" humor but everything about the way you did it was perfect. Even the subtle expressions the guy made and the way the door broke when the butts flew in was hilarious. I don't think there's a single thing you could have done with this that would have made it funnier.

I looooooooooled.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

Wappin wappin wappin

LMAO!

That was hilarious. I haven't laughed like that at a flash for a while.

Most of the humor of course came from that awesome Sesame Street clip and not the animation but what the heck I don't feel like being a flash snob today. 8/10.

Lord-Sonx responds:

animation+ music = funny
music = nice
animation = nice

need both to complete the movie ;)

No one can be before you when you alone possess the power to say I AM.
