Here we go again...
Let me just start by saying that no matter how sick you probably are of hearing it, everyone who criticizes you for using stolen graphics is right. You didn't have to draw anything in this, which pretty much eliminates 80% of the work you'd have to do, and 100% of any artistic merit it could possibly have. But this flash wasn't made to be looked up to as the Da Vinci or Van Gogh of animation was it? It was made to be an entertaining cartoon about Mario and Sonic characters with a Dragonball Z twist. (Which probably ranks pretty low on the good idea-meter, but I digress.) Besides, its not like you made this overnight. You clearly have excellent... premade symbol manipulating skills... whatever that counts for.
Let's move onto the writing, which is quite possibly your biggest downfall. Whenever the sprites you've imported into flash aren't just flying around the screen, fighting each other, crashing into things and exploding, they just stand there spouting off contrived dialog and crappy exposition. (Just like the real Dragonball Z...) It's cliche and uninteresting, which is an opinion I'm clearly the minority of, but hey, everyone else clearly sees something extremely obvious that I just don't see.
With all that said, this isn't an effortless piece of trash as some of your critics seem see it. You clearly put a lot of time into making these, but it is still unoriginal, gimmicky, and in my opinion, undeserving of the level of praise it receives.
(By the way, if anyone's reading this and thought it was "the best flash ever", and are OUTRAGED that I gave it a critical review... the buttons for marking my review "unhelpful" are right down there.) VVV
